Provenance over hype
Documented history, honest mileage, and a paper trail. If it's not there, it doesn't make the floor. We'd rather pass than guess.
Who we are
The short version
The cars that defined Japan’s golden era: the touge heroes, the homologation specials, the kei-sized thrill rides. They deserve more than a classified ad and a leap of faith. They deserve a hunt, run by people who’d kill to keep the car themselves.
Kaido House exists for one reason: to put the right people in the right machines, with nothing lost in translation along the way.
The name comes from 街道 (kaidō): the winding mountain-pass roads where Japan’s car culture was forged after dark. Through the 1980s and ’90s, factory engineers and weekend tuners turned these routes into a proving ground, and an entire scene grew up around them.
Those nights produced the cars we chase today: balanced, honest, a little raw, and built with an obsessiveness that has never quite been repeated.
Importing one of these cars used to mean a fixer, a translator, a wire transfer into the dark, and months of hoping. We’d all been burned by it.
So we became the people on the ground: bilingual, plugged into the auction system, and standing in the inspection lane in person. No middlemen, no mystery, no “as described.” Just the car, the truth about it, and a clean path home.
We bid in the USS, TAA, and JAA auction halls across Honshu, tapping private collections most exporters never get to see.
Before a single yen changes hands, our team puts hands on the car: compression numbers, chassis condition, panel gaps, and the 整備記録簿 service history.
Container out of Yokohama, Kobe, or Nagoya. We handle export deregistration, marine insurance, and customs brokerage end to end.
25-year exempt or state-eligible. We sort the EPA and DOT paperwork, CARB where it applies, and hand you a clean title.

We hunt junsei: factory-correct, unmolested examples. The patina of a well-kept original beats a glossy reinterpretation every time.
Everyone here owns one. We buy what we'd happily drive home ourselves. Most of the time, that's exactly what happens.
Touge runs, drift nights, the all-night convoys of the bubble era. Every car we bring over carries a piece of that story. We think the best place for these machines isn’t a sealed collection. It’s out there, warmed up, doing exactly what they were built for.
Your turn
A rotating selection of one-of-a-kind machines, each one inspected on the ground before it crossed the Pacific.
